TOTALLY DEDICATED TO MADE IN ITALY

MIRROR HOUSES BOLZANO, AN IDYLLIC DESIGN RETREAT ON THE ITALIAN DOLOMITES

Designed by Italian architect Peter Pichler, the Mirror Houses are two unique holiday apartments close to a farmhouse outside the city of Bolzano, in the North-East Italy, immersed in the city’s apple orchards and surrounded by the spectacular mountain range of the Dolomites.

The architect cleverly chose to cover the west façades of the two blocks with mirrors to allow to reflect the surrounding mountains.

The two houses are slightly staggered in height and length to separate them visually and articulating differentiation. The units are elevated and offer fantastic views of the surrounding landscape. Both have floor-to-ceiling windows perfect to enjoy the sunrise in all its glory. Thanks to the way they were designed, the windows give the impression of floating above the ground, expressing above all a great sense of lightness. Both units face East, with a large glass facade that vanishes with the curvilinear lines of the aluminum shell. The facade to the West is completely reflective and allows you to capture the view and makes the units almost invisible.

The mirrors on both of these holiday homes of the South Tyrolean Dolomites create a reflective facade, and are covered with a specially designed wrap to reduce the UV light and prevent bird collisions.

Guests have their own little self-contained apartment and can fully enjoy the experience of living immersed in the wonderful local nature. The interior is made of orthogonal rooms and large surfaces in a neutral colour palette of white and beige. The dining and living areas are combined together directly behind the glass and open into small terraces that are slightly raised from the ground. The bedroom and the bathroom sit behind the living room, and are furnished with fine and elegant pieces. There is also a very useful utility room in the small basement. The houses are illuminated by natural light filtering from the large skylights. The attention is mainly directed outside, with a private garden, independent access and even parking for guests.

Client and owner is the Ebner family, who rents these two apartments from €160 per night.

The Mirror Houses offer a unique opportunity to spend a holiday in close contact with the amazing scenery and the beauty of nature in perfect harmony with the contemporary architecture of the highest standard. They are luxury vacation rentals where guests feel immersed in the beauty of nature while enjoying total privacy.
