On the endless mountain range between Italy and France, a small chalet emerges in a location tucked away from modern life, where all you can see is animal tracks and a few keen hikers. The beautiful house is built primarily of wood and glass, with a play of transparency that makes you feel inside a box at high altitude.

It’s also self-sufficient, thanks to the use of renewable energy, building technologies, low-energy and thermal insulation. The whole construction process was meticolously planned by dividing it into several phases. First, the reinforced concrete base was waterproofed and isolated. Second, the bearing structure was built, followed by mounted slabs, roof and outer layers and finally the interior floorboards, plant and window fixtures. Completely prefabricated, it was then assembled on site, taking an impressive five months in total to complete.

Poetically called Camelot, this small cottage was designed by Con3studio in 2009 and placed in Claviere, a small mountain town on the Italian Alps not too far from Turin. An area of 150 square meters surrounded by snow and pine forests, a modern design with hard geometric shapes that resemble a rock inspired by the surrounding nature.

Inside, modern and contemporary yet cozy and warm furnishing are stylishly combined with snug rugs. A perfect combination of architecture and nature giving a great sense of relaxation and where the protagonist is the landscape.

Con3studio was founded in 1993 by Elena Belforte and Giusi Rivoira, the only all-female studio in Turin practicing for over 20 years. Their philosophy, inspiration behind the name of the studio (literally, With3studio), is based on the collaboration between the professional knowledge of the two founding members and the different ideas and needs of each client.
